Propshaft ??

Well I have tried to determine today what I propshaft I need to source to provide MK with to modify, I cant seem to find a definitive answer. There are a few Sierra ones on ebay but they appear to be xr4x4 ones. One is local in Chard so might go for that and see how I get on. Got home this afternoon from watching what was billed as football but to be honest watching paint dry would have been more enjoyable. They have to change their manager soon otherwise we will be relegated for sure! For anyone that doesn't know me I support Swindon and have done for nearly 30 years (since I was very young :-) ). I witnessed fans at the game actually throwing their season tickets at the chairman and walking out which gives you an indication of the feeling of the fans at the moment. The manager needs to go and we need to get back to doing the basics well again.
Anyway enough for now, back to clearing the garage again in the morning post watching the GP, come on Lewis..!!

Order placed and posted

Well at last after what seems like months (it might even be!), the order has gone into MK for my Indy kit. I have ordered the kit + a fireblade engine cradle and also the powdercoating for the chassis and other bits.

I have gone for orange bodypanels with black cycle wings and rear arches.. You will certainly see me coming....:-)

Now over the coming weeks I will need to complete the garage prep work and continue my spending on new tools. A new socket set is next on the agenda.

I have also signed up for a vehicle maintenance course at the local college which will give me the additional skills I need to complete the build.... I hope..

I cant wait to get it now..

Engine choice made (I think!)

So what engine I hear you ask am I going to use, well after a great deal of thought I really want to build a BEC (Bike Engine Car), and I have decided to use a Honda Fire Blade engine, its only 900cc but very light, now I need to put the car on a diet when I build it to make full use of what will be around 250BHP per ton.

Order has now gone in, so just need to wait now for the kit to be ready.

Until next time.

Tools and garage prep

Well still no decisions on the engine choice. It has to be the right decision so this will now rollover like the lottery to the 3rd week of deliberation.

Progress on the garage and tool front though, made a visit to machine mart yesterday and picked up a new workbench and some new metric spanners, next on my tool hit list if a new socket set.

Going to spend some time today building the new work bench - fun fun fun.....

Decisions decisions...!!

Before i can put the order in for the kit a certain number of decisions need to be made, I thought I was good at making decisions but now realise I am hopeless.

I have narrowed the bodywork colour down to all black or orange with black cycle wings and rear arches, both look good but which one.....
The major decision though is the engine choice, do I go motorbike or car engine. I have narrowed the decision down to a 2L Ford Zetec (blacktop) engine or a Bike Honda Fireblade unit.

Perhaps if I sleep on it the decision will become easier, saying that I have been saying that for the last 10 days and I am no nearer deciding.

A weekend of pondering further is required.
